—Amanda Sefton to KurtDo you know that blue is my favorite color?
History
Amanda is Kurt Wagner’s classmate in Bayville High. After working together in math class, Amanda quickly developed a crush on Kurt but was too shy to ask him out. One day, Amanda witnessed Kurt turning off his image inducer, revealing his mutant form. Although the girl was shocked, she found herself more curious than afraid. When a school dance was announced, Amanda finally built up the courage to ask Kurt to be her date, which he accepted. At the dance, Amanda revealed to Kurt that she knows of his secret, but Kurt denied her claims and insisted there was nothing unusual about him. Seeing the boy was uncomfortable with the truth, Amanda dropped the subject and assured him she could wait until he was ready to come out. When the dance was interrupted by creatures from the Brimstone Dimension, Kurt was forced to teleport Amanda to safety, thus confirming his true self to her. While walking the girl home, Kurt explained the nature of his power. Amanda then revealed that she also knows of his true appearance and asked if she could see it up close. Kurt was reluctant, thinking it would scare her. However, to Kurt's surprise, Amanda was accepting of his natural blue demon-like form. The two then began to date.[1]
After the mutant population was revealed to the public, Amanda showcased her support to Kurt, only to find out that he retained his secret identity unlike his fellow X-Men. The girl was disappointed to hear that Kurt refused to come out as a mutant, pointing out that he should be standing by his friends as they faced discrimination instead of maintaining his facade.
Kurt met Amanda's parents one evening, but everything went wrong as Toad crashed in and stole Nightcrawler's image inducer. Amanda's parents discovered that Kurt was a mutant and banned Amanda from seeing him again, but this didn't stop her from doing just that.[2]Attributes
