Synopsis for "El casamiento de Peter Parker"

Peter Parker is suffering ever since Gwen Stacy moved to London with his uncle four months ago; their relationship was impeded by Peter's secret identity as el Hombre Araña. Aunt May is worried about him, and May's friend Ana prompts May to write Gwen a letter, asking her to come back. Ana even suggests that Gwen and Peter may marry.

Meanwhile, Harry Osborn is visited by his father, Norman Osborn, successful but very busy business owner. Harry would like Norman to take him to Europe, but Norman is disappointed at Harry not being strong and heartless - traits that Norman believes are needed to take over his company. In particular, Norman regrets that Harry is friends with Peter Parker, whom Norman considers weak. Being alone, and due to his remembering of Peter's name, Norman has a breakdown and also remembers that Peter is el Hombre Araña, and that Norman is his sworn enemy, el Duende Verde. El Duende decides to destroy Peter, lest Peter destroys him and his son.

Riding his glider, el Duende enters Peter's departamento by blowing the door with his glove weapon. The ruckus wakes up Aunt May and, when she sees el Duende flying inside the home, she's scared unconscious. At May's scream and with his spider sense tingling, Peter wakes up. He finds el Duende holding May's unconscious body in his arms. El Duende decides to use May as a hostage and orders Peter to reveal his identity to everyone, lest el Duende will kill May. El Duende leaves flying with May.

Not wanting to take care of May, he uses a gas to keep her unconscious for 48 hours, then drops her in the Hospital Internacional, where she would not be recognized.

Meanwhile, Gwen and her father are flying to New York, having received May's letter.

El Duende's plan had a flaw: The hospital staff found a card with Peter's phone number on May. When they called, Peter took the phone and understood that May was not in immediate danger - just when he had decided to go on with el Duende's plan and reveal his identity. In costume, Peter goes to the hospital - but en route he finds el Duende, and they start a fight.

El Hombre Araña tries to tie el Duende with his webs, but he breaks free. El Hombre Araña takes that moment to punch el Duende. Still, el Duende throws el Hombre Araña gas grenades. Peter is gasping for air, almost unconscious and hallucinating - about his wedding with Gwen, where he decides to never tell her his secret identity. El Duende ties him and moves him in his glider, wanting to reveal el Hombre Araña's identity to the public himself. Hearing el Hombre Araña's mumbling in dreams, el Duende decides to amuse himself listening. But, in dreams, Peter mentions his friend Harry. Having a new breakdown at his loved son's name, el Duende makes way for Norman's personality. Remembering nothing and confused at his costume, Norman takes off his mask and faints while el Hombre Araña recovers. Deciding that Norman is not really guilty of el Duende's actions, el Hombre Araña does not turn him to the police, instead removing his costume - but, at the same time, el Hombre Araña must be very careful with this villain who knows his identity. Peter finally reaches the hospital, but by then the staff was tired of waiting and returned May to her home. Peter meets her there and tells May about his dream of marrying Gwen, while May is going to tell Peter about how she contacted Gwen.

Notes

  • In this universe, Anna Watson's alternate is called Ana, with only one N.
  • In this universe, Peter Parker, Mary Jane Watson, Harry Osborn, Norman Osborn and Betty Brant are black-haired. On Earth-616, they are brown-haired, except Mary Jane, who is red-haired. The man travelling with Gwen (purportedly his father, Captain George Stacy) has a handlebar moustache that his Earth-616 counterpart lacks.
  • El Duende orders Peter to reveal his identity to the general public, but he does not give him a deadline. El Duende uses a gas to keep May unconscious for 48 hours. Still, May seems to recover in the following day.
  • Aunt May writes Gwen, asking her to fly back to New York. Gwen indeed takes a plane. The story does not explicitly show Gwen answering May with her plans. However, in the last scene, May apparently knows that Gwen is coming back - the secret May wants to tell Peter.
