Synopsis for "Las Satanicas"
The Satánicas are a gang of women disguised as cats, led by Satania or Satánica. One of their members steals the blueprints of an interplanetary ship being built in the US, to sell it to the Reds for a lot of money. She escapes through the window. A cable connects her to a helicopter. El Hombre Araña tries to stop her, but she dodges and escape, ridiculing him.
Satania mets with the leader of criminals gangs and says that she will organize them all in a single gang, under the command of the Satánicas. They are convinced because of Yira's fighting prowess and Ledoy's skill with the whip, used against them.
Aunt May is sick at the hospital; Peter visits her and Gwen meets with him there. The doctor asks for a transfusion for May, and they discover that Peter has a different blood group. With a different means, May recovers a bit, and decides to leave for Florida with her neighbours at the Doctor's request. Gwen offers to babysit Peter.
Meanwhile, there is crime wave under the command of the Satánicas, with helicopters to take the loot. The radio deduces that all the criminals in the city have joined together.
The police arrest several criminals, who surrender because they think the Satánicas will get them out of jail. El Hombre Araña sees it, but he leaves as there is no need for him. Clarín editor Jameson demands that the police look after el Hombre Araña, but is dismissed. Jameson goes to his office and orders a series of articles saying that el Hombre Araña is the protector of Satánicas. Even knowing that it's false and will damage the paper's reputation, Robertson obeys.
During a bank truck heist by the Satánicas and their men, Peter and Gwen are witnesses. The gangsters take them hostage, supposedly because Gwen is very pretty, but really worried that they may have seen them. Satania, present at the heist, orders to batter Peter so they are convinced to "forget" what they saw. The criminals escape, mentioning a meeting at La Colina Roja. Gwen is worried about las Satánicas, as the police cannot find who they are and even el Hombre Araña was defeated by them. Peter leaves her, purportedly to rest at home, but soon he disguises as Hombre Araña and goes to La Colina Roja.
At Colina Roja, las Satánicas ambush el Hombre Araña: Ledoy entangles him with her whip, and then Satania orders them to take care of the prisoner. However, el Hombre Araña frees himself with a show of strength. He then has to fight Yira's kick, but Yira is not strong enough for him, and he ties her with his webs. Ledoy goes to help Yira, but el Hombre Araña quickly uses his web to strangle her. He also ties Satania, and accidentally opens a secret wall with are the loot.
El Hombre Araña aims to unmask the villainesses, but the two male gang leaders enter. Satania orders them to kill el Hombre Araña. They shoot at him, but he makes a web shield. Satania somehow releases herself and turns off the light; but el Hombre Araña's powers allow him to move around better than his enemies, and he turns the light on again. El Hombre Araña defeats the men and ties them up; but Satania escapes. Before chasing, el Hombre Araña phones the police Comandante (apparently the same cop that talked with Jameson) because he had arrested two gang leaders and two Satánicas, plus found the loot. El Hombre Araña then decides to question the Satánicas about their leader - but the Satánicas explode. They were robots that had short-circuited.
Satania flees, leaving a note saying that she would return, and that the two other Satánicas are still alive.
Notes
- The woman depicted on the cover, clearly inspired by Warren Publishing's Vampirella, does not appear in the story.
- The Satánica who steals her plans claims to have a cable tangled around her waist; but it is clearly seen that she is holding with her hands a rope that is not connected to her waist.
- The doctor checks that Peter's blood group and Aunt May's are different from hers, so he can't donate blood to her. However, in Amazing Spider-Man (MX) #12 (which reprints Amazing Spider-Man #10), Peter donates his blood to May because they are the same blood group.
- Satania's final note admits that el Hombre Araña has defeated her, and then claims that she is invincible - which is a contradiction.
