Synopsis for 1st story
In his Brownsville apartment in Brooklyn, a worried Adrian Toomes is met by his granddaughter Tiana who confronts him on his past. Seemingly cold, Tiana clarifies it is because she is holding back her emotions not wishing to yell or cry as she did in-depth research on him, embarrassed it took her so long to realize. Given the numerous deaths he caused, Tiana promises not to turn him in out of familial love but refuses to be in his life going forward, and leaves telling Adrian that she prayed that what he told her wasn't true. Sobbing at losing the last family he had, Adrian asks himself "he who?" and realizes said person was Spider-Man, a busybody interloper despite having saved his life[2] and swears today is the day he cuts off Spider-Man's head.
In Midtown, Norman greets Peter and reveals he is making a reborn OSCORP more focused on altruistic means. By refitting his expertise in "unique aerodynamics", Norman shows Peter their starting bids in aviation which led to battery designs and various miniaturizing challenges. As the tour goes on, Peter is met by an intern Kamala Khan, who comments on his start-up's disastrous fall[3] and corrects herself to talk about the good it did before spilling the beakers she was carrying, to which Norman apologizes. Carrying on, Peter is surprisingly met by Mary Jane, who Norman leaves alone with Peter who explains this wasn't planned. Mary Jane knows this and explains she is visiting being a brand ambassador for Krakoan Pharmaceuticals which helped her aunt Anna with her dementia,[4] having given Norman samples to study for any potential hazards. Although Peter congratulates her, he also apologizes for his actions and promises not to call again if she doesn't want him to. But before she can answer, Paul arrives with crap timing to retrieve Mary Jane.
Greeting Peter, Paul's happy to see him doing better as he was such a mess and struck him their first encounter, and invites him to dinner sometime. Walking to the elevator, Mary Jane confirms to Paul that Norman approved the pills safe for consumption, so now she aims to ready a dress for the Hellfire Gala[5] and Paul wants to celebrate, but Mary Jane turns to see Peter before leaving. When Kamala asks if that was Peter's ex, he confirms and she mentions how brutal that encounter was, leading Peter to think this was one of Norman's mind games with him. Confronting Norman in his office, the ex-nemesis states he only wanted to offer him a chance encounter and is sorry for involving himself as Peter sternly warns him never to do so again. Trying to return to his desired subject, Norman wants Peter to work for him so they can continue a special project he has going. Thinking about coming to Norman and thinking he could help, Peter refuses given the obvious involvement with her personal matters and claims he doesn't need help anymore. But Norman never said he did, and shows the project he wants Peter involved in is an upgraded Spider-Man suit.
Elsewhere, but not too far, Vulture is perched on a ledge surveying the cityscape for his target and pulls out small tech binoculars and finds Spider-Man web-swinging casually through. As Spider-Man clears his head, he cannot help but focus on Norman's nerve and how he's been acting like his history with him is wiped clean after Sin-Eater's "cleansing" his sins[6] but the past still remains. Thinking about what he should have done, Spider-Man is too late to react to Vulture coming upon him and gets rocketed up into the air, high enough for his ears to pop. Initially glad to be let go, Spider-Man can't get his bearings and is thrashed in free fall as Vulture talks (without specificity) about how "she" was the only love he had, blaming Spider-Man for losing her. Slashing both web shooters, Vulture voices that Spider-Man says he a murderer, so he will show him a murder and tells Spider-Man to die. Realizing too late that he's too high up, Spider-Man falls from over a mile up back to New York with no way to save himself.
