History
America Chavez lived in peace with her mothers Elena and Amalia Chavez until America accidentally conjured a star-shaped portal after being frightened by a bee, sending her and her mothers to different universes.
America spent years traveling from one universe to the next becoming very knowledgeable about traveling through the Multiverse. During her journey, she tried to search for alternate versions of herself but never found any and believed she was a unique being in the Multiverse, considering she never dreamed.
In one of her multiversal journeys, America was pursued by interdimensional beings who wanted to steal her powers, at one point she allied with a Doctor Strange from an alternate universe, they went to find the Book of Vishanti to find a way to stop whatever was chasing her, however, a creature with ribbons attacked them mortally wounding Strange so he tried to remove America's powers to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands, even though he knew it would kill her but was impaled by the creature. When caught by the creature, America was frightened causing it to open several portals that began to absorb her and the creature, before being absorbed by the portal, an near-death Strange managed to cut the ribbons of the creature and fell with Chavez to Earth-199999.[1]
Later on, Chavez continued walking around the universe she was on, albeit still pursued by interdimensional monsters, including Gargantos. She was later saved by that universe's Doctor Stephen Strange and Sorcerer Supreme Wong, who killed the creature.

- Aliyah Camacho portrays a younger version of America Chavez in the film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
- According to Kevin Feige, the MCU version of America Chavez is a lesbian like her mainstream comics counterpart, but the decision was made to only vaguely allude to this due to Xochitl Gomez only being 14 when she was cast, and the film focusing on other aspects of America's character.[2]

- America claims to have originated in a dimension called the Utopian Parallel, and to be a unique existence in the Multiverse as a result -- citing her inability to dream as proof.[1]
