History

Amora was an orphan. Karnilla found Amora in an orphanage because Amora was naturally using her powers, so Karnilla took her in to train Amora as her successor to Royal Sorcerer. Karnilla later took Amora to the Asgardian court where Amora befriended Loki. Loki had been dissuaded from learning to use his own innate magic powers because it was unbecoming of a prince, and at his request, Amora began training Loki in secret.

On the evening of a great feast, Odin looked into the Godseye Mirror and saw what he believed to be Ragnarok: Loki marching on Asgard with an army of the dead. Loki and Amora snuck into Odin's Vault to view the future in the Godseye Mirror, but Loki accidentally shattered the mirror with his intense untrained magic. Amora took the blame for using too much power, and Odin banished her to Midgard and gave a warning to Loki.

Years later, Odin punished Loki by assigning him a task on Midgard to investigate a series of magic-related murders. A lead with one of the victims had Loki finding Amora working as "The Enchantress" at the Inferno Club in London. Midgard drained their magic, but she had been able to sustain herself by drawing power from the crowd of her shows. Loki realized that she was the murderer, and she'd been draining life energy from humans to sustain herself and her powers. Loki resolved to save Amora from Midgard.

Amora encouraged Loki to look into what the humans had written about him. Loki picked up a book about Norse mythology and found that the humans had written that he was various terrible things. Realizing he would never be considered for the crown in his own right, he agreed with Amora to use the Norn Stones and raise the dead to try to take the throne of Asgard for himself.

The dead would be transported out of London by train, but at the station, Loki got away and snuck onto the train in one of the caskets. He confronted Amora, letting her know that he'd figured out that she would turn on him, and they fought. Amora raised the dead with her own power. Loki defeated Amora, and she fell from the train. Using the Norn Stones, he transported the train cars with the undead to Asgard, where Thor and the Einherjar were waiting because Loki had alerted Thor earlier, and together they defeated the undead.

Attributes

Powers

Sorcery: Amora's natural magical powers are among the most powerful of the Asgardians, although she is still training. She can channel enough power to show visions in the Godseye Mirror, but it's not enough power to make the vision clear.

  • Power absorption: Amora can draw power from others, even powerless Midgardians, in order to sustain her own powers.
  • Telekinesis: Amora can make object move with her powers.
  • Spell-casting: Amora is well-trained in spell use, although her training is cut short when she is banished.
Allspeak: Thanks to the Allspeak, Amora can communicate with and be understood by all races. The Allspeak will also translate text.

Paraphernalia

Equipment

  • Spiritualist table: As part of her show, Amora has a "circular table, painted black and with a board in the center displaying the Midgardian alphabet written in gold." A planchette "with a cutout center on top" is used to allegedly communicate with spirits by spelling out words on the board.[1] The planchette can be controlled by an assistant hiding under the table using magnets, but Amora will sometimes use magic to move the planchette instead.[2]
