History
In the forming days of Nidavellir, Andvari the Dwarf took for himself a treasure, greatest in the realms, known as the Hoard of Andvari. The treasure of gold was so great that Andvari couldn't leave it.[1]
Using magic, Andvari was able to take the shape of a giant pike, impervious to any harm he could imagine of.[1]
At some point, the time-travelling Loki came to him, as he needed the gold to settle a feud with Hriemdar and his sons Regin and Fafnir, after Loki had "inadvertently" killed their younger brother Otr while he was in otter form, and that the brothers and father had took young prince Odin Borson.[1]
Using a bazooka, a weapon Andvari hadn't thought protection against, Loki killed Andvari and stole his gold, but not before the dwarf cursed it, causing it to reveal the truth about people.[1]
That gold led to numerous events, including the transformation of Fafnir into a dragon, the creation of the sword Gram and its acquisition by Sigurd, the indirect transformation of the King of Nastrond into a Fafnir, the immortality of Sigurd.[1]Attributes
