Ant-Man is an unconventional and problematic super-hero with the ability to shrink in size and communicate with insect life. Hank Pym first became Ant-Man after developing the size-altering Pym Particles and his cybernetic Helmet. Pym abandoned the identity shortly after helping found the Avengers. The neglected name and gear have been repurposed by Scott Lang, an ex-convict who wished to save the life of his daughter. Despite his failures, Lang has built a solid reputation as Ant-Man. The unscrupulous Eric O'Grady also used Pym's alias and technology, momentarily acting as an irredeemable Ant-Man.
