History
One of the heroes who stood against the Martian Masters invasion. Stark was so traumatized by the carnage and horror that the Martians had done that he fell off the wagon and started drinking again.[1] In the process, he came up with an idea to keep his technology out of the hands of the martians.[1] Stark was killed in fighting against the invaders, but not before sending a large portion of his technology into space. The technology was found by a primitive society who grew to worship Stark as their god, even naming themselves after him.[2]
Attributes
Powers
Tony Stark has no powers of his own but they are derived from his Iron Man Armor.
Notes
- In most appearances of Earth-691's Tony Stark, he is shown wearing the Neo-Classic Armor.[2][3] However, another story shows him wearing the Classic Armor instead.[4] Guardians of the Galaxy Annual #3 has a story that shows Iron Man wearing the Classic Armor in flashback but also has a pin-up where he's wearing someting similar to the Neo-Classic armor instead. It's unknown if the Classic Armor was in error or a part of a story.
- In Amazing Adventures (Vol. 2) #38, the Dreamer created illlusions of Marvel heroes, including one of Iron Man, basing it at first on a distorted, red/gold version of the Original Armor and later a distorted version of the Classic Armor. Since the Dreamer later said he was an astronaut who went into space in 1999 and was basing the illusions off "all the heroes of his youth", this implies that Earth-691's Tony was around during the 1970s, as opposed to being affected by the Sliding Timescale of Earth-616.
