History

Little is known about Doctor Decibel's life before his appearance as one of the members of the criminal Institute of Evil. At one point, he operated on the vocal cords of Lady Lark (aka Linda Lewis), a former pop singer, giving her superhuman powers. He often clashed with the heroes of the Squadron Supreme, to which Lewis belonged. During its "Utopia Program" the Squadron Supreme brainwashed Decibel using a mind-altering device, after which he joined the Squadron.

Decibel attended Squadron member Quagmire, in a coma after a battle. Quagmire's extradimensional ooze manifested uncontrollably, suffocating Doctor Decibel.
