History
Anya's history is the same as in Earth-616, up until the Grim Hunt. Here Spider-Man killed Kraven in anger, and ended up murdering many of his supervillains as well. Anya witnessed this first death, and became horrified by Spider-Man.
Madame Web approached Araña to replace Spider-Man, but she refused, worried that she would end up making the same choices Peter had.
After Madame Web's collection of heroes failed to defeat Peter, she teleported Araña to face him. Peter held the upper hand, until Anya managed to twist Peter's gun as he fired, permanently blinding him. Araña was then able to overpower him, but refused to kill him. Instead she left him alive to deal with the consequences of his actions, while she became the head spider.[1]
