The Aphaki were a people originally from Shem, possibly from Aphaka, and who migrated southwestward to establish the city of Tombalku, in the Southern of Kush.

By the Age of Conan, circa 10,000 BC, the Aphaki were the half-Shemite caste of Tombalku, dominant yet minoritary brown-skinned in a city held by its black people. The city was ruled by two kings, one brown and the other black.

• The Aphaki were created in "Drums of Tombalku", an unfinished story by Robert E. Howard, adapted in Savage Sword of Conan #21, written by Roy Thomas and drawn by John Buscema and Sonny Trinidad.
