History
April Booth and her husband Mark had a company called Booth Cybernetics and, at some point, they become obsessed with the idea of obtaining super powers. After studying multiple possibilities, they decided the best course of action would be using Gamma Radiation, with Jen Walters (the She-Hulk) being the best candidate to get blood from, due to both her power and intelligence.[1]

Before the Experiment
Once they hacked into Stark Industries to get her blood samples, they proceeded with the experiment. For a few seconds after their first transformation, everything seemed right with both of them having hulked out while retaining their intelligence. Before long, however, side effects began manifesting, with Mark losing his intelligence and April reverting to her human form while retaining a larger head.[1]
Mark wrecked the whole laboratory before returning to his human form. Once the dust had settled, they began working on fixing the situation. The problem was: Mark kept transforming whenever they faced any adversity and, in time, he stopped reverting to his human form altogether.[1]

After the Experiment
Still keen on solving the issue, April found that Jack of Harts had once absorbed She-Hulk's radiation.[1] Through unknown means, she then got hold of Jack and experimented on him,[5] successfully restoring Mark's original skin tone, but not yet his intelligence.[6]
After Mark had an altercation with She-Hulk in public, She-Hulk decided to pay April and Mark a visit at their home. When she got there, April saw it as an opportunity to experiment on her and told Mark (who was green once more) to seize her.[4] April was ready to absorb She-Hulk's radiation when Jack showed up to her rescue. She-Hulk broke free and started battling Mark, while Jack confronted April. In the chaos that ensued, April accidentally absorbed Mark's radiation, effectively curing him, but inheriting his reduced intelligence and skin tone.[3]
She escaped, but eventually came after Jen again, now calling herself Anathema. Coincidentally, she ran into her while she was with her cousin, The Hulk, which led to a fight between the two. When the Hulk was momentarily knocked unconscious, Mark took some blood from him, hoping it would provide the cure for his wife, but Anathema destroyed the collected sample and ran away again.[7]See Also
