History

Arachnia is one of the domains of Battleworld. Its Baron is Mayor Norman Osborn.

Arachnia consists of a Manhattan with a history similar to Earth-616's. The only difference is that after the death of Gwen Stacy, Spider-Man vanished and George Stacy didn't die till afterwards. Stacy's killer Norman Osborn was never found responsible for the murder, and became the Mayor of the city years later.

Numerous spider-heroes from other dimensions were recreated in Arachnia, living their lives as they had always existed there, but with vague memories of their past lives. These spider-heroes consisted of Anya Corazon, Billy Braddock, Paviitr Prabhakar, Gwen Stacy and Peter Porker. Paviitr started looking for and gathering some of these heroes.^[1]

While trying to find out about her counterpart's life and death, Gwen Stacy sneaked into Ozcorp's Special Projets division, and discovered Peter Porker. She escaped of the building after being discovered by Osborn, and was later found by Paviitr, Anya and Billy. Prabhakar brought them to his hideout, where he had deviced a machine to track the exotic resonances of the spider-heroes in this dimension, the device subsequently picked up another Spider. The signal brought the spider-heroes to the Brooklyn Navy Yard, where they stopped the criminals Carnage and Tombstone, and discovered the origin of the signal, the Spider-Man from the Noir Universe. The spiders were soon interrupted by the arrival of the Sinister Six.^[2]
