Synopsis for "Phantom Wings"

Following Sabretooth's assault, Archangel grapples with reluctance towards the wings bestowed upon him by Apocalypse. Despite attempts by his girlfriend Psylocke to offer support, he distances himself. While soaring over New York, Archangel is unexpectedly targeted psychically. He loses consciousness and becomes ensnared in a fortress-like structure, taken captive by a fearful young woman named Tuesday. This woman is haunted by a phobia of attacking birds.

As Betsy and Jean embark on a quest to locate him, Tuesday keeps Archangel captive, tending to his damaged wings and gradually eliciting sensation from them. During their time together, Archangel learns of Tuesday's troubled past: she accidentally killed her abusive husband, triggering a series of events where birds began attacking her. Identifying her latent power, Archangel urges her to release her guilt. He defends her against the avian assaults, and she appears to find solace.

Archangel transports them both away, but he soon discovers he is alone. Tuesday had perished long ago in a plane crash with her husband. Rejoining the X-Men, Archangel finds newfound acceptance for his metal wings. However, Betsy grapples with conflicting emotions, unsure of how to react to the realization that a spectral figure, Tuesday, connected with Archangel in a way she couldn't.
