History

Early Life[]

Argus LaVecchio was an aspiring film director living in Los Angeles. He resided in an apartment complex managed by former actress Gloria Angel and shared the building with other entertainment-industry hopefuls, including Wonder Man, who was then pursuing an acting career. Argus dreamed of making it in Hollywood and often collaborated with his eclectic group of neighbours, including LaHoya Scripps, Aundray Phelps, Ginger Beach, and screenwriter Alex Flores.[1]

Exposure to Ionic Energy[]

Argus and his neighbors became entangled in the fallout of Wonder Man's unstable ionic condition after they helped rescue him following an attack by Angkor, a Cambodian refugee empowered by Simon's energy.[2] Upon returning Simon to his apartment, the group was subjected to a powerful burst of ionic discharge. While no immediate effects were observed, all present were subtly altered at a molecular level.[3] Over time, Argus and the others began developing unique superhuman abilities.[4]

Becoming Visionary[]

Argus discovered he had developed extrasensory vision, granting him the ability to perceive energy patterns, life forces, and even glimpses of possible future events. Embracing his new identity, he adopted the codename Visionary and joined his empowered neighbours in forming a superhero team called the Crazy Eight.[5] Working alongside "Auteur" (Alex Flores), "Dreamer" (Jamie Flores), "Snap" (Ginger Beach), "Buff" (LaHoya Scripps), "Attractive Lad" (Aundray Phelps), "Glamour Girl" (Gloria Angel), and "Stat" (Esteban Beach), Argus helped the team battle Armed Response, a corrupt security group under the control of Lotus Newmark.[6] They exposed the organisation’s crimes, but were soon targeted by Lotus’s hired assassins Splice and Rampage.[7] Though victorious, the Eight suffered serious consequences, with Auteur critically wounded in the assault.

Disbandment of the Crazy Eight[]

Following Auteur's injury and subsequent spiritual entanglement in a metaphysical battle involving Mephisto, Blackheart, and the Grim Reaper, Wonder Man attempted to remove the ionic energy from the others to return them to normalcy.[8] Most, including Argus, relinquished their powers. Only Dreamer and Stat secretly retained a portion of theirs.[9] After Wonder Man’s apparent death fighting the alien race known as the Scatter, the Crazy Eight disbanded.[10] Argus stepped away from superheroics and began work on a documentary exploring the world of superhumans.[11]
