History

Aristus was an Argossean from an old and noble family.

He fought alongside Conan against the Stygians at the Siege of Khemi, and saved his life.

Argos eventually became the prey of divided loyalties. When a revolt arise, Aristus joined the rebellion, to oppose the tyranny of the King of Argos. The rebellion was defeated in a last battle. All the captured rebels awaited execution. Conan, who had been fighting for the King, found Aristus among the prisoners. Despite Aristus' refusals, preferring to be executed than tortured, Conan went to ask a favor from the King. Conan asked for Aristus to be exiled but the King refused, instead offered him a last boon. Consequently, Aristus asked Conan to be his executioner, and asked him to behead him with one stroke (the executioner who was present was growing tired and it had took three strokes to behead another rebel). Saddened to be asked to perform the execution, Conan nevertheless did it.
