History

Arnim Zola's early life was the same as that of his Earth-199999 counterpart. His consciousness was transferred into a series of computers in 1972. Several years later, Arnim, now an AI, had met Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff and destroyed for the same reason as his counterpart. However, there was a copy of him located in a Hydra facility in Siberia that was used to oversee the Russian Super Soldier Program.

Some time later, the vast majority of living beings on Earth were killed by an artificial intelligence created by Tony Stark, Ultron, who rebelled against his creator and then transferred his consciousness into a synthetic body that gave him enough power to kill the Avengers and send nuclear weapons all over the Earth. When Natasha and Clint Barton, the only survivors of the nuclear catastrophe, went to Moscow and searched the KGB archives in order to find something that could help them to destroy Ultron they found the file Arnim Zola and found the base where the other copy of him was.

Awakened by Natasha and Clint, who told him about Ultron and forced him to work with them, Arnim was tasked with entering Ultron's hive mind and destroy him from within. Clint downloaded Arnim's consciousness into one of his arrows and Natasha called the attention of several of Ultron's Sentinels to use as an entry for Zola's consciousness. Once downloaded onto a Sentinel, he attempted to invade the hive mind, but since Ultron was outside the universe it was impossible for him to do so. In the end, Clint sacrificed himself for Natasha and Zola to escape, soon alerting Romanoff that several Sentinels were rushing to their position.

By unknown means, Arnim's mind was downloaded back into an arrow and he was carried away by Natasha. After Natasha joined the Guardians of the Multiverse, Natasha received help from Captain Carter so she could pierce Ultron's eye. This download Zola into Ultron's mind, who and corrupted his code and destroyed it. After dismantling Ultron, Zola took over Ultron's body and tried to snatch the Infinity Stones that Killmonger had taken from Ultron after Zola had destroyed him. While they tried to take the stones for themselves, Strange Supreme used his powers to trap them in a pocket dimension where Strange would watch over them.
