History
Artemus Pithins was Stark International's pompous but efficient Director of Public Relations. He worked primarily with Tony Stark. During this time period, Stark struggled with alcoholism and Pithins watched his slow decline. Despite the fact that Pithins was confident enough to discuss his differences with his employer on occasion, Anthony Stark always recognized Pithins as a good employee. On one occasion, Stark offered his alter ego, Iron Man, to appear at a high school career day. At the time, Pithins was trying to positively influence his son, Gerry, who attended the high school. When Stark later lost control of his company to Obadiah Stane, Pithins, as well as several other Stark confidants, promptly offered their resignations.
