History

After the Living Laser of Earth-616 traveled through the Watcher's dimensional portal to escape being captured by Quasar[1] and ended up on an alternate Earth, his attempts to use the portal to return to his rightful reality somehow caused him to diverge in transit, replicating him into divergent counterparts. This particular Laser counterpart arrived on Earth-82432,[2] an alternate Earth where Korvac had defeated the Avengers and made them pawns in his scheme to bring order to the universe.[3]

Quasar was later sent to track down and retrieve all of the replicated Lasers, and Earth-82432 was the first alternate reality that he visited. Quasar quickly found this Laser counterpart as he was fleeing through space in an attempt to escape from the super-giant Korvac and absorbed the Laser's energy-form into his Quantum-Bands. Quasar promised the Laser that he would let his energy out once they got home and then quantum-jumped to the Moon to use the portal there. From within the Quantum-Bands, the Laser warned Quasar to hurry because Korvac was about to use the Ultimate Nullifier and they escaped from that alternate universe[2] just seconds before it was Nullified.[3]

After arriving at the next affected alternate Earth, Quasar asked this Laser if he were still in the Quantum-Bands. When the Laser confirmed that he was, Quasar told him that he was soon going to have company.[2]

Notes

  • Despite the numeric designation assigned to this character, he is not the Living Laser who was native to Earth-82432. That character, who would have still been in his original human body at the time of Quasar's visit, has never appeared in any Marvel comic and was undoubtedly destroyed when his timeline was Nullified by Korvac.
  • What happened to this replicated Living Laser and the other six who were absorbed into the Quantum-Bands has never been revealed. Although Quasar had promised to let the energy of all of the Lasers that he had absorbed out of the Quantum-Bands once they had gotten back home, him actually doing so has never been shown, mentioned or referenced.
