History
Asher Cross attended Maplebrook Camp, a summer camp, along with the X-Man Kitty Pryde when they were both 13 years old. Secretly a mutant, Asher assumed that rumors of a mutant that had spread around camp were about him unaware that Kitty had been the one spotted using her powers. When Kitty and Asher realized that they were both mutants, Kitty helped show Asher a way to control his power and the two shared a kiss. Asher became panicked at the thought of them possibly creating new mutants and ran away from Kitty. He later sent one of his now controlled Will-O-Wisps to Kitty as an apology.[1]

Notes
- Since the one issue he appears in takes place long before the event, it is unknown if Asher kept his powers after M-Day or even what his life was like after the story.
