Goblin King and Hammerhead decide to put the territory of the third district as a prize for a cage match. After they make an agreement they are attacked by Spider-Man. The two bosses manage to escape, but Spidey still blocks several of Hammerhead's men. The next day Judge Howell demands to see Yuri who arrested him and tells her that he was getting the drug as a painkiller for his sick wife and that if he is accused of collusion, Tombstone will have him killed. Yuri, however, replies that according to her it is not a problem and leaves. She later receives another tip from Mr. Negative and on match night Wraith and Spider-Man storm in and attack the criminals. Goblin King escapes, but Hammerhead is arrested.
Spider-Man uses a medicine he took in the future to heal Tempest, but she wakes up and tries to shoot him, even though the superhero manages to escape unscathed. The next morning, on his way to work, Miguel discovers that Liz has decided to build a super-prison and is sure she doesn't have to fear competition from Peter Parker. Miguel after helping the latter to defeat the Spot tells him about his journey into the future, begging him to win the contract to build the super-prison, as he fears that somehow it is Alchemax to have caused the rise to the power of the Maestro.
Miguel returns home, is greeted by a Tempest in seventh heaven and drunk: the doctor has revealed that she is perfectly healed. The woman realizes that it was Spider-Man who healed her, and believes that he did so at the request of Miguel, and kisses him. Shortly after, however, she transforms into a humanoid wasp.
Spider-Man is on the hunt for Coldheart, who has escaped from prison. He finds her running in an alleyway with a bag of money and tackles her. In the fight that follows, Coldheart throws one of her swords at him, hitting the side of his stomach and slowly encasing him in ice. As his body is covered in ice, he secretly attaches a spider-tracer to his back before fleeing to a rooftop.
Later that night, Spider-Man is freed from the ice and follows the spider-tracer's signal to Coldheart's apartment where he can see her giving Christmas gifts to what appears to be her family. From the apartment above, Spider-Man calls the police, who arrest her shortly afterwards. Spider-Man enters her apartment and finds that the people in her apartment were inanimate dolls.
From her jail cell, Coldheart is thinking about her deceased son when she sees a package by the window left by Spider-Man. Inside is a framed photo of her family.
