Notes
- T'Challa and Victor von Doom appear as newborn babies. A date of birth in 1937 would not contradict these characters' apparent ages on their respective first appearances in 1966 (Fantastic Four #52) and 1962 (Fantastic Four #5)—though Doom's college contemporaries Richards and Grimm are shown as adults during World War II in Sgt. Fury #3, Capt. Savage and his Leatherneck Raiders #7 and Fantastic Four #11—but it is incompatible with Marvel's sliding timescale.
- Amanda mentions that it was lucky Fortune's friend Rick was able to get them "letters of transit". This is a reference to the 1942 film Casablanca, but in that film Rick did not set up in Casablanca until after the fall of France in June 1940. In 1936 he was fighting the fascists in the Spanish Civil War.
- Andrea's murderer passes a poster advertising the Pasadena Roof Orchestra. Though this band specialises in the music of the '20s and '30s, they were not formed until 1969.
