Professor Rall, a scientist, builds a time machine and invites his friend and neighbor, Harold Bevinson, over to take it out for a test run before making it public. Rall shows Harold the Battle of Gettysburg, as well as George Washington crossing the Delaware River. While viewing George Washington the machine knocks him into the river, almost drowning him, but Harold jumps in and saves him, with the Rallite picking Harold up without anyone noticing, which makes Rall declare Harold a hero.
