Synopsis for "The Message"
Bill Benson an employee of Bayshore Foundry sits on the docks during his off time dreaming about working near the ocean. While day dreaming he spots a bottle floating near him with a message in it. He grabs the bottle and reads the message and follows its instructions to save what he thinks to be a man being kidnapped near him.
Upon getting to Pier 27 and opening the coal shack he thinks the victim is being held he notices signs of a struggle and another note inside a sack Bill believes to be used in the covering of the victim's head. This note leads him to a yacht called the Dolphin. He boards the ship and comes face to face with three sailors who over power him and take him to a man.
The man confesses that all of this was a ruse to find a brave courageous man who loved the ocean to work for him on the docks. And that the prisoner was himself the entire time and that he was in fact J.B. White owner of the J.B. White Steamship Line, Dolphin, and even the Albatross freighter Bill believed the prisoner was taken from. Bill accepts the job happily knowing he'll get to work near the ocean.
