Synopsis for "The Mutant!"
A man thinks that he was born different, a mutant, and thus is very isolated even though his great intellect has vastly benefited humanity. An alien thought projection reveals itself to him and informs him that he is not in fact a mutant, but rather was given his advanced intellect to benefit mankind on the cusp of joining the galactic federation of planets. The alien offers him the choice of returning to his home planet where he will be among equals, or of living the remainder of his days as a normal human. The protagonist chooses the latter.

A hunter locates a part in the woods that fell from a flying saucer and makes up a story about riding in one. At a book signing he is challenged that no ship based on his diagrams could fly and he admits making up the story when he found the alien part. His challenger reveals himself as an alien and collects the part while offering the hunter a ride in his flying saucer.

A court magician attempts to get the king to allow him to marry the princess by bringing a man from the future to impress with advanced knowledge but his plan backfires when the princess and future man fall in love. The magician attempts to send the future man back in time but the future man reveals himself as a magician from the future and dispatches the court magician in his place.

A painter steals ancient mystical paints from a museum and falls into his own painting of the burning of Rome. He's pursued by locals who figure him for a spy with his outlandish garb and he stumbles into the studio of the ancient painter who developed the magic paint. He quickly paints a modern tunnel exit and returns through to modern times.
