Synopsis for "The Little Black Box!"

A postal employee working in the dead letter office gets a duplicator that has been lost in time from the year 2000. He makes a duplicate of himself to leave with his nagging wife, but the owner of the object shows up to take it back to the future with him. He trains the device upon our luckless protagonist and he vanishes, to be reborn in the year 2000.

Synopsis for "Where is Death?"

The Devil warns one of his sailor minions to get off a ship sailing the Sargasso Sea because he has rewarded his minion with immunity from death at sea in exchange for his service. The sailor laughs at the Devil's warning that there are worse things than death and tells him he's not afraid, but the ship breaks up and his body drifts forever in the Sargasso without dying.

Synopsis for "Vengeance of the Time Stream"

Paul Gifford was a scientist who was once a close friend of Tom Hanlan, another scientist, who over time began to hate him greatly as he had managed to surpass him in everything that Paul wanted to achieve, as head of the physics faculty where they both taught and the love of Nona Stevens who they had both met who eventually married Tom. Together they had built a time machine, although the bulk of the recognition would go to Tom, and on the day of testing the machine there was a great reception, but inside the laboratory where the machine was, Paul pulled a gun on Tom, killing him and then fled in 300 years in the future. Upon arriving in the future however, Paul found himself inside a courthouse specially built for him upon his arrival, as they knew exactly when and where he would arrive, and was put on trial for the murder of Thomas Hanlan.

Synopsis for "The Luck of Louie Nugent"

A child is born as a jinx and is there at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attack. He tells his commanding officer in the army that he feels all his life his bad luck has been building towards a terrible climax so he is defecting to the Germans in order to curse them. As the war draws to a close, the officer writes a letter to the boy's father explaining his defection and his belief that the strange curse may have aided in bringing about an allied victory.
