History
A group of Atlanteans set out in search of a remote outpost of Atlantis. As they passed through the Barents Sea, they found themselves growing weaker as they travelled further away from an underwater fountain they had discovered. When they were rescued from fishing nets by a small Kraken, they established a settlement nearby. They discovered that they could not venture too far away without felling ill and weak. When Namora found their settlement to invite them to join other Atlanteans in Oceanus, the settlers explained their dilemma: if they left they could die. Namora investigated and discovered that the Kraken they had known as a protector was but an extension of a much larger creature who lived under the fountain and controlled the settlers. After defeating the beast, the settlers followed Namora to the Oceanus.[1]
