Atlantis was a fabulous kingdom city[1] that existed circa 50,000 BC.

The Kingdom was separated from Crete by the Valley of Mist.[1]

The relation, if any, between this Atlantis and the Atlantis that was known in the last thousand years before the Great Cataclysm remains unrevealed.

History

Circa 50,000 BC, Atlantis was ruled by Princess Eve. At some point during her reign, she was deposed by by her evil uncle Acidal and forced to flee her kingdom. Acidal ruled with the counsel of his court magician, Soothsayer. In the Valley of Mist, Eve was captured by the Witches of Endor who attempted to disfigure her and make her one of their own. Also captured by the witches, the cave-boy Tuk and Tanir the Cro-Magnon Man rescued Eve. Hearing her plight, and seeking to reach Atlantis themselves, they swore to help her be restored on her throne.[1]

Informed by Soothsayer's precognition, Acidal had the north gate closed as Eve, Tuk and Tanir approached. Using a secret tunnel, Eve revealed herself to the soldiers, and had her uncle imprisoned. Princess Eve welcomed Tuk and Tanir to stay, however they declined and kept traveling on, to the Attilan, the so-called Island of the Gods.[2]

Religion[]

Circa 50,000 B.C., the inhabitants of Atlantis worshiped Jupiter.[2]

Residents

  • Princess Eve - Ruler of Atlantis, once removed
  • Acidal - Deposed usurper king, Eve's uncle
  • Soothsayer - Acidal's court magician

Notes

  • Atlantis is a fictional island mentioned in Plato's works "Timaeus" and "Critias".
    • What relation exist between this Atlantis, set circa 50,000 BC, and the Atlantis of the Pre-Cataclysmic Age (which came to exist thousands of years later), is unknown.

Trivia

In the recap of "Atlantis and the False King" in Captain America Comics #3, Atlantis is named the "Island of the Gods". It is unclear if it does carry that title, or if it is an error with Attilan, also known as the "Island of the Gods" in the story, including in this issue.
