The Aug-Matron was a Skrull device the size of a late 20th century walkman. It modified a speaker's voice to turn it into an instrument that incited its listeners to riot. The Skrull agent Zirksu used it on Earth, where one of his covers was that of a disc jockey. It amplified a rock musicians music causing a riot. With time it would have turned every man against his fellow man.
The 3-D Man guessed the source, and smashed the amplifier. Zirksu got away and the rock musician ended taking the fall. When he was put in a jail, he found the device in his guitar. After which he turned it on and the sound it produced blew a hole in the brick wall.[1]
