Synopsis for "My Dinner with Emplate"

Locked up by Emplate, Escapade meets his other prisoner before offering up her self when D.O.A. demands one of them come to dinner. Forced to wear the dress of a past victim, Escapade attends the meal, where Emplate reveals that while he plans to eat and kill her slowly, he hopes their relationship can remain amicable. He explains that time moves differently in his realm, and that part of him hopes that her friends will rescue her. Emplate informs Escapade of his origins as Marius St. Croix, son of a wealthy family whose life was ruined when he killed his mother after she discovered the onset of his vampiric mutant ability. In their cell, the mysterious prisoner advises Escapade to keep their host talking, but his memory is too damaged by Emplate to give her more information. He asks her to let Emplate finish him off, but Escapade refuses to let him pass. At another dinner with Emplate, he reveals that he has chosen Escapade specifically for use of her powers, and after drinking from her looks on towards new ventures. Back at the Academy, Captain Marvel asks the students about Escapade and is surprised to hear, for the first time, about the Midnight Chapel and the Lighthouse, and then again to learn of M'Kraan, who guest instructor Iceman claims some familiarity with. Hazmat is left in charge while Captain Marvel and Iceman go to consult with mystical experts and people who have previously experience with Emplate. Bloodline is ready to set off with Walpurgis and the Asgardian stake that was able to damage Emplate previously, but is halted by Hazmat, who insists on joining her.
