Synopsis for "Kindred"
Apostate’s blade points at Safron Caulder’s neck, threatening her life before Emplate throws the vampiress through the window. He tells D.O.A. to bring the car around and Bloodline calls out the man she once knew as Marius. Emplate advises her not to trust him and to protect her mother, then leaps out into the night to face Apostate. Bloodline rushes to free her friends and mother, but finds that Safron has cut her bonds already and stepped outside. Bloodline’s sword meets Apostate’s as she enters the action to safeguard her mother as she speaks with Emplate, calling him by his old name. Denouncing Apostate’s claims of damnation against her, Bloodline kicks her opponent into D.O.A.'s recently arrived limousine as the Emplate’s servant ferries her off to hell. Marius begs forgiveness from Safron, who accepts him and offers him refuge in her home. He responds that perhaps one day he will return before disappearing again.
The next day, Aaron and Lunella play in the yard while Brielle finally comes out as queer to her mother. Safron wraps her in a big hug, thanking her daughter for telling her. Brielle tells her about her girlfriend and her fears that she has ruined their relationship, but her mom encourages her to fight for her own happiness.
In the Western Temple of Cyttorak, Malphegor informs the cruel entity of his alliance with Hydra and once more begs that he bequeath him his power. Cyttorak devalues Malphegor’s loyalty, but longs for a singular champion. He gives the devotee a new quest, sending him to set the stage for a battle between the Juggernauts.
