History
The Base Planetoid was a Skrull base in that sector of space, used for staging their fleet. It was heavily defended with both a fleet and a force field surrounding the base. General Zedrao was in command of the base and its fleet, and had stayed out of the Skrullian civil war that was tearing apart the Skrull Empire.
When Nebula hijacked the planet-killing Sanctuary II and planned to conquer the fragmented Skrull empire with her mercenary army, Zedrao was the only thing standing in her way. She had an anti-matter missile fired at the base, destroying the planetoid and she believed the fleet. They had escaped, using another explosion as cover, being warned by the Avenger Captain Marvel. Finding no sign of life, Nebula ordered the permanent destruction of the planet in order to prevent anyone from reestablishing a new colony.[2]
