Bastian Cooper , also known as Muse, was a psychotic and sadistic serial killer from New York City, who drains his victims' blood and uses it to paint murals.

All Bastian ever wanted to be was an artist, but due to his mental instability, he was involuntarily detained when he was fifteen, and was expelled from Phillips Exeter Academy. According to him, his parents always wanted an athlete in the family, so they made him compete in taekwondo. He hated it, but they wouldn't let him quit. Instead, his father hired an elite taekwondo coach; Lee Suk Ji, to live with them. Three months after coach Lee started training Bastian, his body showed up on the estate. Bastian was sixteen at the time. Lee's cause of death was listed as unknown, but there was never an investigation. Bastian was involuntarily detained again when he was seventeen and another one when he was twenty.[1]

Bastian eventually became a graffiti artist and serial killer in New York City. At some point during the city's mayoral election, Bastian began painting several murals around the city, mixing the blood of his victims into the mural, also applying epoxy on top, making the murals essentially impervious. The police gathered at least five unique DNA profiles for each mural, and at five DNA profiles per wall, they estimated at least sixty victims.[2]Attributes

- Muse Costume: Bastian used a protective white suit as his alter-ego, Muse; to hide his identity when commiting his crimes. The suit was comprised of canvas, a extremely durable plain-woven fabric. This particular canvas was very rare and expensive, and there were only two stores in New York that sold it.

- Bastian mentioned in "Art For Art's Sake" that he can become imperceptible in his dreams. This is a reference to his comic book counterpart, who has the ability to become undetectable to those around him, even Daredevil.
