Synopsis for "The Daring Escape of the Space Cowboy"
Apollo visits Commander Adama in his personal quarters, only to be attacked by Boxey playing 'Vipers and Cylons'. Adama is resting in his bed, and the entire room is filled with stacks of computer printouts that have information gathered during the time Adama spend in the Memory Machine. Adama learned that the Lords of Kobol used pulsars as signposts for navigation in space, and is now trying to determine the right combination of pulsars. Still playing his game, Boxey keeps disappearing between the large stacks, until Apollo joins in and pretends to shoot Boxey with his finger. Apollo tells his father that the repairs on the Agroship are almost completed, and that Dr. Wilker has found a way to process the fruit from the Jungleworld to make it harmless and edible for the Colonials.
Captain Siduri of patrol Lambda reports that an unidentified ship is approaching the Colonial fleet. This strange, multi-colored ship is heading straight for the Galactica. Although there is no radio contact from the mystery ship, Boxey is certain that it must be piloted by Starbuck, returning to the fleet at last. The boy immediately goes to Alpha Landing Bay. Realizing the ship must have come from the direction of Scavenge World, Apollo alerts Boomer and heads down to Alpha Landing Bay as well. Along the way, they also pick up Jolly. On the bridge, Athena gets permission from Colonel Tigh to hurry to the bay as well, and tells Cassiopeia and Sapphire to join her. Emergency crews stand by with fire hoses because the ship is falling apart as it makes it's landing. Everybody is releaved to see that the pilot of the strange ship is indeed Starbuck, who asks for a cigar.
Starbuck meets Adama and Tigh in Adama's quarters and tells them he may have found a precious clue to the location of Earth. After about an hour, Starbuck leaves to meet the others in the Officer's lounge, where he recounts his version of his escape from Scavenge World. Starbuck found an old abandoned ship he could use, but it was badly in need of repairs. So he began collecting the parts he needed by playing card games such as 3-Fingered Froggie and Mud Mother's Ramble. Eurayle became angry at Starbuck after she learned he had been romancing all the other females in the Scavenge World. She demanded his head, but Starbuck fought off his attackers and managed to escape in his barely repaired ship.
After finishing his story, Apollo asks if Starbuck's tale was completly true, and informs him that a squadron of fighter ships coming from Scavenge World are heading towards the Galactica.
