History

Ben Grimm, alias the Thing is a New Yorker super-hero and member of the Fantastic Four.

The Thing once ended up with Spider-Man glued to his back while fighting Trapster.

When Mesmero swapped the minds of Spider-Man and the Hulk, Ben Grimm challenged the Hulk, believing him to be the real one, to a slug-fest. The Hulk and Spider-Man were able to get the better of him, but the Thing eventually fell under Mesmero's control. The Thing came to his senses after Peter Parker (as the Hulk) hit him over the head, and he pointed out Mesmero to the two heroes.

After a card game at the Baxter Building attended by Spider-Man, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.. Ben was captured along the other Fantastic Four members by The Collector.

Notes

• Voiced by Dave Boat.
• Peter Parker played a video game featuring the Thing battling the Hulk.
• When Peter was theorizing of theater plays featuring superheroes he thought of Ben in "The Thing and I."

Trivia

• The Thing is the only member of the Fantastic Four to appear in Ultimate Spider-Man and Marvel's Avengers Assemble.
