The Thing's history is presumably similar to his Earth-616counterpart's. When the Watcher warned a super-powerful machine called the Unmaker threatened to destroy the world as it tried to escape the planet's core, a team was assembled to combat the Unmaker. Thing was a member of this team as its muscle. As the team battled the Unmaker, Thing was assisted by Invisible Woman to get in close to strike it. However, Thing was instantly killed by the Unmaker by disintegration.[1]
