Ben Reilly, more commonly known as the Scarlet Spider, was a clone of Peter Parker created during an experiment by the villainous Jackal. Implanted with Peter Parker's memories as well as all of his arachnid abilities, Ben believed he was the real Spider-Man and fought Peter Parker to claim his existence as the original. Eventually, Ben came to terms with being a clone and carved out his own path as the web-slinging hero known as the Scarlet Spider.[1]
