Following the events of Captain America: Civil War, Natasha Romanoff finds herself alone and forced to confront a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Romanoff must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.[2]


The Taskmaster will appear as the film's villain.[1] Ray Winstone will portray General Dreykov, who was previously mentioned in Marvel's The Avengers.[4][5] Olivier Richters has been cast in an undisclosed role.[6]

  • Originally slated to be released on May 1, 2020 in the US, the release was pulled on March 17, 2020, due to concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic.[7] On April 3, 2020, it was announced that the release date for this film had been pushed to November 6, 2020.[8] In September 2020, the film was pushed back again to May 7, 2021.[9]
  • Black Widow is the movie that will launch the 4th phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
