Synopsis for "Raison d'Etre"
In between her work for S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers, Black Widow spends her time taking jobs to capture and eliminate criminals so that she can atone for her past actions and try to forgive herself. The Black Widow never reveals what those horrible past actions were. Widow's lawyer and ally Isaiah helps get jobs for her, negotiates prices, and channels all of the money that she makes into trusts and the widow's "web". The Black Widow refuses to keep any of the money to make herself rich.
Isaiah gets a job for Black Widow in Dubai. She travels to Dubai and saves a crime lord from being assassinated by another mob boss, who was using the meeting in Dubai as a trap to kill the fellow criminal. Natasha takes out the sniper assassin in the building across the block by blowing him up with a missle launcher.
Later that night, the Black Widow confides in a stray cat about the job she just finished and the people she had to hurt.
