—Brielle BrooksWe're not doing this. You don't have to do this. I'm banking on you recognizing me and my voice right now. I can't let you hurt Whitney, and no matter what Deacon said, I don't think you want to. Only thing he got right was that I'm like you--which means you're like me. Stubborn enough to fight this just to spite some dude who called us monsters. You know what you gave me? Weapons. The tools to take care of myself. The skills. And I've got all of that with me right now. That's what you passed down to your "bloodline." Don't let him make you forget.

Synopsis for 1st story
Brielle, Jayden, and Rebecca are found by Safron, their reunion prompting an honest explanation to her closest friends. Before they can plan their next move, Whitney appears and attacks them alongside vampire associates. Bri and Whitney fight and argue before Bri prevails and has Rebecca drive them to drop Safron at the hospital for her injuries and to assist Blade before his bloodlust overcomes him. She finds him chained by Deacon Frost, and attempts to use his captured foster daughter as a bargaining chip before he throws a dagger into her chest. He unleashes a blood maddened Blade at the girls, but Bri talks him down before taking his sword and defeating Frost herself, her recovered father helping her to swing the killing blow. After the danger has passed, Bri enjoys a game of baseball with her friends, admonished by her parents on the bench.
