History

Doctor Doom developed this machine that switches the bodies of two people. The subjects are placed in two glass cylinders, connected to machinery. The subjects' minds are changed through a process including spiral energy waves.[1][2] Should one subject is not willing, that person could try to resist the process using sheer willpower. The change is permanent, albeit the machine could be used again to return the minds to the original bodies.[2]

Doom built one of these machines within the confines of the Latverian Embassy of New York City.[2] He then used it to swap his body with Daredevil's in a plot to surprise attack the Fantastic Four.[1][2] Doom later returned to his own body,[3] and then Daredevil destroyed the machine[3][2] with an ax.[3]

Notes

In Daredevil #37, Doom initially mentions preparing a machine called "Transformatron" that is never mentioned again - thus, that must have been another name for the device he later calls "Body-Transferral Ray"
