History
The Book of Kathulos was an iron-bound book from the Hyborian Age, presumably created by the god-demon Kathulos the Slave-Seer.[1]
It was among the tomes and scrolls of the wizard Ranephi, who destroyed those who could be legible to people ignorant to magic.[2]Notes
- The Book of Kathulos is presumably inspired by the Iron-Bound Books of Shuma-Gorath and of Skelos.
Trivia
- The Appendix's unabridged listing of magic tomes incorrectly lists the Book of Kathulos as first appearing in Conan the Barbarian #8 (1971), instead of Savage Sword of Conan #8 (1975).[3]
