Quote1 You killed my husband--robbed me of my love and my child of his father. Quote2
War[src]

Bracken was the husband of War and father of Summoner.[3]

History

Bracken was one of the many mutants living in Arakko after relocating to Amenth. At some point, War and Bracken fell in love, married, and had a son, Summoner.[3]

While married to War, Bracken engaged in a romantic tryst with Solem. Bracken eventually broke the relationship off, with Solem later stating that he had been afraid of risking his status as prince consort over a dalliance with the delinquent Solem. When Bracken insulted Solem in his hearing, while coming across him with his wife, Solem took the insult as a challenge. He used Blightswill to disable Bracken's powers, and decapitated him.[4]

The exact reason for Bracken's murder would remain unknown for many years; Solem would claim that Bracken demanded to duel to defend his honor. Others theorized that Bracken and Solem were lovers and that Solem had grown tired of him; or that Solem killed Bracken to upset War, who had long spurned his advances; or that Solem had grown bored of Amenth and killed Bracken to antagonize War into starting a great conflict so he could escape Amenth in the chaos.[1]

Because of the murder of Bracken and his other crimes, Solem was sentenced to eternity in the pit beneath the Tower of Broken Will.[1]
