History
Sergeant Bradley Hansen was a soldier, married to a woman named Joanne from whom he had a son named Kevin; eventually, Bradley and Joanne got separated.[3]
During the events of the Death of Doctor Strange, Bradley was exposed to radioactive material that heavily damaged his body. To support his family economically and to return to full health, he joined Larry Trask’s Sentinels program, that modified robotically his body, giving him the power of hijacking and controlling both technological and biological systems via nanotechnology. He was appointed as the team’s field leader with the codename Lockstep. [4]
After the capture of Omega Red in Kemerovo Oblast, that saw the Fireteam lose their specialist Shellback to malfunction in his programming, a new specialist, Drumfire, joined, strongly angering Lockstep.[2]
Trying to reconnect with his family, he started seeing his son Kevin again. Kevin explained to his father that Joanne started borrowing money from Maggia.[2]
During the failed arrest of Cortez, Voivod also lost control of his programming and Lockstep forbade Drumfire to put him down, causing the warden of the Graymalkin Prison, Corina Ellis, to temporarily block any mission of the team as the protocol was broken. After the event, still enraged for his family’s situation, tracked down a Maggia’s base and killed every mobster in the building; during this actions, his programming started to graft itself onto him more deeply.[1] To counter Lockstep's transformation into a Sentinel, warden Ellis supplanted him with a new, different, type of technology that still mutated his body anyway.[5]
Lockstep was sent to stop Sawtooth from freeing Juston Seyfert, but Perimeter seized his body when he was grievously injured. It rendered him braindead in a failed effort to kill Drumfire, and the remnants of his personality rejected Juston's offer of change and salvation. Scurvy and Ellis recovered his remains, planning to send them after Juston, Sawtooth, and Drumfire.[6]Attributes
