History

Dr. Brian Mann was one of the world's foremost nuclear physicists; he was the project administrator as well as the designer of the Nest facility. When an earthquake destroyed the facility, he and his coworkers were transformed into the Lords of Light and Darkness. They fought the X-Men and Spider-Man and were transported into space where they were transformed again into a state of energy that was perceived as a new star from Earth.
