History

Brian Morrison was just a regular kid until his mutant abilities manifested while he was in the city of Port Washington, New York. Brian who was in a frantic state accidentally unleashed his cosmic power among the town destroying buildings, roads and literally anything in his path. His energy signature was detected by Cerebro which led to the X-Men arriving on the scene in the Blackbird.

Prestige tried to calm Brian down telepathically, but he was too powerful for her to make contact with, creating an energy feedback that struck Rachel to the ground. With Brian being an Omega Level Mutant, Kitty began to reason with him by saying that he can control is abilities. He believed himself to be a monster, but Kitty reassured him that anyone would be frightened if one day they woke up with the powers of a god.

She was able to help Brian power down to his human form and told him that he could come to the Xavier Institute for Mutant Education and Outreach where he would be taught on how to control his amazing gifts. But all of a sudden Brian fell down after being shot in the head by one of the townspeople who thought he was threat due to the amount of damage he had done to the city.

Kitty had Nightcrawler teleport them to North Shore Medical Center where Brian was automatically seen by someone in the emergency room. After a while, the doctor came out and gave the results to Kitty but told her that he couldn't save him due to his uncontrollable powers and that he wasn't going to risk the lives of everyone in the hospital if Brain were to flare up under anesthesia.

Dr. Kosineski then appeared and said that she would perform the surgery after she had a change of heart about her feelings towards mutants when she saw them save the city against an alien god. After a couple hours had past the X-Men stayed in the waiting room wondering if Brian was going to pull through.[1]

Brian survived the procedure, and eventually regained consciousness. Feeling guilty for the destruction he had caused, he tried to deny his mutant status. However, Kitty Pryde was present to help him, and told him he had either the option to go out and be one of the mutants that the world feared, or become an X-Man.[2]
