History
Manipulated by the villain Nightmare, Hulk went on a rampage and was fought by Thor and Dr. Strange. Before the two of them could send Hulk into a dimensional portal, the Venom-possessed Spider-Man showed up and knocked Dr. Strange out cold. At this point, the Venom symbiote had used up all of Peter Parker's adrenaline, so it left him and bonded with the Hulk.
A week later, the Avengers went looking for the symbiote, and thus the Hulk. Thor found him and battled the Symbiote-Hulk, forcing the symbiote to leave Hulk and bound with Thor instead.[1]
