Bruce Banner was one of the many superhumans captured and enslaved by the Skrulls to fight in their arena as one of the many "competitors". When Terrax, herald of Galactus, arrived on Earth, Banner combined his power with the Thing and killed Terrax. Banner was later seen trying to decipher the alien code of the weapons arsenal, when Quicksilver failed to open one door, Banner broke it, despite the danger of it being booby-trapped. Banner then found a device held in a forcefield cube, asking if this is what Morph was looking for. Morph confirms this and is relieved, saying that this device might be capable of bringing Galactus down.

Somewhat later the attacks start, the Thing, Colossus, and Banner Beast combined their strength, while Sunfire, Johnny Storm and Ororo Munroe attacked from the air. The Banner Beast later tries using an anti-matter bomb and wants to explode it next to Galactus, only to be knocked out by a wave from Galactus' hand.

When Galactus was driven away, the Banner Beast, among many other heroes, started rebuilding their world after a century of slavery by the Skrulls.

Superhuman Strength: The Banner Beast possesses the capacity for near-limitless physical strength. The gamma radiation that mutated the Banner Beast's body fortified his cellular structure and added, from some yet unknown source (possible via extradimensional mass acquisition), over 800 pounds of bone marrow and tissue to his body.

Superhuman Stamina: The Banner Beast's body counteracts fatigue poisons that build up in his muscles during physical activity. In an enraged state, the Banner Beast is capable of exerting himself at peak capacity for several days before fatigue begins to affect him. However, much like his physical strength, the Banner Beast's stamina increases as he becomes angrier.

Superhuman Durability: In addition to great strength, the Banner Beast's body possesses a high degree of resistance to injury, pain, and desease. The Banner Beast's skin is capable of withstanding extreme heat without blistering, extreme cold without freezing, and great impacts. The Banner Beast has withstood the impacts of a ground zero nuclear explosion without sustaining injury. The Banner Beast durability, like his strength, is fueled by rushes of adrenaline while angry.

Regenerative Healing Factor: Despite his high resistance to physical injury, it is possible to cause the Banner Beast injury. The Banner Beast is capable of regenerating damaged and destroyed areas of his body with far greater speed and efficiency than an ordinary human. Wounds that would be deadly to most other heroes takes just a short time for the Banner Beast to recover.

Immunity to all diseases: The Banner Beast is immune to all known Earth-based deseases, including AIDS.

Superhuman Leaping Ability: The Banner Beast is able to use his highly developed legs to leap great distances. While calm, he is capable of leaping roughly 3 miles. However, as he becomes enraged, his strength increases considerably, which means he can jump much farther than usual.

Dr. Bruce Banner is a genius in nuclear physics, possessing a mind so brilliant that it cannot be measured by any known intelligence test.
