History
Bruce Harris was a famous rock singer who hired Dazzler as the warm-up number of his concerts. When Harris showed up to her, he did it in an extremely arrogant way by telling her that the audience was there for him and if they showed themselves hostile to her, she remembered that she was being paid[1] (thou not a lot of money and with delays). After the first concerts in the west coast tour, however, the audience shifted their preferences towards Dazzler, and Harris thought that his warm-up should not compete with him, admitting that she was very good; after performing at the Cow Palace in San Francisco in front of 17,000 people, the San Francisco Chronicle praised her performance as his opening act making it look like she, not he, had been the star, and indeed some fans changed their support signs during the concert.[2] With the rise of Dazzler's success, Harris and his manager dismissed Dazzler to prevent her from continuing to steal the stage just before they performed in Seattle's Kingdome - but Dazzler did not lose heart, again outstaged Harris even knowing she had just been fired, and ironically thanked him, wishing that the next warm-up would not steal his thunder and suggesting him to hire Alvin and the Chipmunks for that job.[3]
Years later, no longer a rock star but a simple waiter, Harris was interviewed about Dazzler's career and still resenting he said he was forced to get rid of her because his opening show was a joke.[4]
